Sabattus Food Pantry

A Community Resource for the
Greater Sabattus Area

Based on the gospel of Jesus’ miraculous multiplication of the loaves and fishes, our helping network began in 1997. Sister Lucille Fournier established a program to provide assistance to people in crisis in the Sabattus, Maine, area. Since then, the Dominican Sisters have been sponsoring Loaves & Fishes, and the Sister’s Convent has since been its home.

Through our partnerships with Good Shepherd Food Bank, Hannaford Supermarkets, the USDA, local businesses, farmers and gardeners – we are pleased to be able to provide a valuable resource for those living in our communities.

Currently, we are able to serve residents living in the greater Sabattus area

(Sabattus, Wales, Litchfield, Greene, Turner, Leeds, Lisbon, and Monmouth).

Our Food Pantry is open:

Mondays, 10:30 – 11:30

Tuesdays, 09:00 – 10:00

Wednesdays, 09:00 – 10:00

and is located at 61 Lisbon Road in Sabattus, Maine.

The staff of Loaves & Fishes consists of a group of volunteers and a Board of Directors who dedicate their time to helping others. We rely on local community members, active and retired business professionals, and recipients of Loaves & Fishes assistance to work with the Sisters and help to provide to those in need.

Without our valued volunteers and directors, we would not be able to do what we do. Our volunteers also raise money through fundraisers and generous donations, including:
